The Position:

Relay Therapeutics is seeking a pharmacology leader to enable the development of small molecule therapies for cancer and related diseases. The individual in this essential role will lead the design, external execution, and interpretation of in vivo pharmacology studies to support a growing pipeline of anti-cancer agents. The ideal candidate has broad and diverse experience with oncology and immuno-oncology models, has led in vivo studies to assess PK/PD/efficacy relationships, and has experience overseeing interactions with contract research organizations. Candidates must enjoy an interactive environment in which they will be asked to influence the strategy of multiple project teams.

Responsibilities:

Lead the pharmacology strategy as part of cross-functional drug discovery teams
Lead the design, external execution, and interpretation of in vivo PK/PD/efficacy studies, ensuring high quality, timely completion, and appropriate cost
Work closely with DMPK experts on PK/PD modeling, and study execution
Work with external academic and industrial collaborators to lead in vivo studies performed in complex disease models
Present clearly and concisely in internal and external meetings
Qualifications:

PhD in oncology, pharmacology, or related field with at least 5 years of industry experience in small molecule drug discovery
Broad experience with diverse animal models of cancer and anti-tumor immunity, including patient-derived and genetically-engineered models
Demonstrated track record of leading pharmacology studies to support research stage drug discovery programs
Strong organizational and time management skills, with track record of supporting multiple ongoing projects in parallel
Experience with biomarker assay development and validation is a plus
