Senior Research Associate, Functional Genomics at Tango Therapeutics

Position Summary:

Tango Therapeutics is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Research Associate to join our Functional Genomics group.

The successful candidate will contribute as part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary discovery team dedicated to the development of a novel class of therapeutics. As part of an exciting new start s/he will interact closely with Scientists and other RAs in Oncology target discovery and validation using cutting edge functional genomics screening technologies and molecular biology tools.

The candidate should be a scientifically motivated, self-starter, capable of independently conceiving, conducting, and critically analyzing his/her own innovative research with minimal supervision. Strong presentation skills, communication and the ability to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment will also be vital.

Job Responsibilities:

Perform large-scale proliferation- and FACS-based CRISPR screens
Isolate genomic DNA and generate NGS sequencing libraries
Construct CRISPR gRNA libraries and individual gRNA clones for target validation
Coordinate with other functional groups to plan and execute high-throughput workflows
Compile and analyze data to support/contribute to technical reports and publications
Manage and order supplies and maintain equipment
Minimum Requirements:

B.Sc. or M.S. degree in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or Cell Biology
Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a biotech or pharmaceutical company or a similar environment
Extensive experience working with CRISPR and related genetic perturbation technologies; experience in large-scale pooled CRISPR screens preferred
Excellent Molecular Biology skills
Experience working with lentiviral vectors
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Oncology therapeutic target discovery and validation
Hands on experience with FACS, Taqman RT-qPCR as well as preparation of NGS libraries
Proven expertise with high through put screening (genetic or small molecule compound screens) as well as In vivo (mouse) genetic screens
Experience with small molecule target identification and validation
Familiarity with common sequence data analysis software packages
