Magenta is seeking a highly-motivated individual with proven experience in the analytical development of antibodies and antibody drug conjugates. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the biotherapeutics team discovering and developing novel therapeutics to transform hematopoietic stem cell transplant therapies. This exciting opportunity requires in-depth knowledge of biophysical and chemical properties of biologics. In this role, the candidate will provide analytical support towards biologics discovery and development leading to IND enabling studies.
Primary responsibilities:
Perform and develop analytical methods, design / execute experiments, characterize biologics routinely, and present results in meetings
Interact and collaborate with fellow colleagues to answer critical questions on biophysical changes upon antibody modifications
Plan stability studies and apply relevant biophysical methods to understand critical parameters to keep biologics stable
Learn, adapt and understand group priorities followed by design and execution of key studies
Find / troubleshoot analytical problems and present results in relevant meetings
Minimum requirements:
Masters with 3-5 years or PhD with 0-2 years of experience with a degree in biochemistry, chemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceutical or biological sciences
The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in biotech/ pharma with a thorough understanding of the analytical/developability aspects of biologics drug discovery and development
Strong experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC (SEC, reverse phase, ion-exchange, hydrophobic interaction, CIC), CE-SDS, CE-iEF, UV/CD/FTIR, AC-SINS, Western blot, SDS-PAGE, ELISA etc.
Strong understanding of the biophysical and chemical changes of antibodies under a variety of stresses
Working knowledge and experience with biologics including antibody drug conjugates
Deep understanding of bioconjugation principles and formulation development of biologics including antibody drug conjugates will be favorably considered
Relevant experience with early stage and late stage development of biologics is preferable
Ability to design and execute experiments independently with ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, start-up environment
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills are required
