Position Summary

Neon is seeking an analytical chemist to join the peptide chemistry group. The primary responsibility of this position is to perform routine peptide analysis and purification to support research and development activities. This individual will work closely with peptide chemists and interact with the bioinformatics, biology, and biochemistry teams. The position requires a highly motivated individual who can work in a high-demand and fast-paced environment.



Job responsibilities include:

Perform automated, mass-directed high-throughput purification of peptides and peptide libraries at various scales using HPLC-MS
Analyze, transfer, pool, and dry fractions, weigh vials, and prepare buffers
Analyze peptides using various analytical instruments such as UPLC-MS
Maintain and troubleshoot analytical and purification instruments
Optimize automated analytical and purification processes
Work productively in a team environment and independently deliver peptides against timelines
Experience and essential skills:

BS/BA in chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry, or related field
Knowledge and experience in chromatographic separation and HPLC analysis
Prior experience in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting HPLC is highly desirable
Experience in LC-MS and software, such as MassLynx and Empower, is preferred
Excellent organizing, planning, and communication skills, and paying attention to details
Willing to perform daily routine analytical and purification tasks
