We are looking for an energetic, collaborative team member to compile and analyze financial information, record general ledger entries and prepare monthly reconciliations.

This critical first hire for the Seaport finance team will also participate in the design and implementation of the financial reporting systems and developing and maintaining strong accounting processes and controls. Position will be an in-office role 3-4 days a week and report to the VP of Finance.

Key responsibilities:

· Participate in the monthly/quarterly close process by preparing journals and completing timely and accurate account reconciliations (bank reconciliations, prepaids and accrual accounts)

· Assist with the day-to-day management of the financial reporting systems, including the general ledger, procure-to-pay and payroll systems

· Assist with financial audits and financial statement preparation

· Support and adhere to strong internal control policies and procedures and identify areas where improvements can be made

· Act as liaison between the accounting department and other departments as required

· Drive internal process improvements and continually identify opportunities for automation

· Provide accounting support for special projects and ad-hoc reporting and analysis as necessary

Education and Experience Requirements:

 

· Bachelor’s Degree in accounting required, Certified Public Accounting (CPA) Certification preferred (but not required)

· Three to five years of relevant job experience

· Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office

· Knowledge of NetSuite a plus (but not required)

· Proven analytical and organizational skill

· Self-starter, enthusiastic, entrepreneurial attitude

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse groups, with strong attention to detail

· Strong time management and planning skills required to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously while adapting to changes in business requirements
