Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers.  The company’s R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. As a new member of the Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding professionals in a tireless commitment to patients with cancers harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway.

The Opportunity:

The Senior Manager, Medical Affairs Operations, plays a vital supportive role within the Medical Affairs team, working closely with the Medical Affairs Strategy leads to drive effective project planning and execution within the tumor areas. This individual will coordinate across cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and execution of tumor area strategies, bringing projects from concept to completion with a focus on timelines, quality, and compliance.

Reporting to the Director, Medical Affairs Operations, the Senior Manager will act as the central coordinator for tumor-specific medical activities, ensuring that Medical Affairs Strategy leads have the operational and project management support needed to achieve therapeutic objectives and make an impact on patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Partner closely with the Global Medical Affairs Strategy leads to design, coordinate, and implement project plans for tumor-specific initiatives to ensure the team achieves and maintains a high-level of sustainable performance and encourage prioritization where team is juggling multiple conflicting deliverables

  • Apply advanced, wide-ranging experience and in-depth expertise in medical affairs operations to lead the efficient execution of complex medical initiatives. Utilize broad knowledge across various disciplines to optimize workflows, drive cross-functional collaboration, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

  • Provide thought leadership across multiple teams in Medical Affairs, applying advanced expertise to navigate and execute highly complex initiatives. Drive cross-functional collaboration, delivering support on innovative solutions to align medical initiatives.

  • Manages the integrated project plan and project assumptions (accounting for goals, key objectives, deliverables, risks) to enable accurate project, financial, and tumor specific analyses for business planning processes.

  • Oversee day-to-day project tasks to ensure timelines are met and resources are efficiently allocated.

  • Manages an efficient information flow amongst cross-functional teams for Medical Affairs led initiatives.

  • Manage tumor specific Global Medical Affairs Team Meetings (GMATs), including the preparation, review, editing of meeting agenda and presentation materials to support an effective and results driven meeting.

  • Drive follow up with all GMAT meeting attendees on action items, document meeting materials and decisions, and acts as a primary contact for the GMAT, ensuring cohesive support for tumor area priorities.

  • Provide regular updates to Medical Affairs Strategy leads on project progress, identifying potential challenges and proposing solutions proactively.

  • Act as a central point of contact for cross-functional teams, managing the integration of Medical Affairs activities into broader organizational objectives.

  • Develop and champion Medical Affairs function’s way of working and plays a pivotal role in communications, ensuring that the teams have access to accurate and timely information regarding program decisions, assumptions, expectations and timelines.

  • Drive resource allocation and budget tracking for tumor area initiatives, aligning expenditures with strategic priorities.

  • Manage and track tumor specific budget, ensuring expenses are aligned with financial goals, and provide regular reports on budget status, forecasting, and cost control measure

  • Manage relationships with external vendors, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality services, adherence to contractual agreements, and alignment with project goals and compliance standards.

  • Ensure that tumor area projects comply with legal standards, and internal SOPs, supporting the Strategy leads in maintaining high standards of quality and integrity.

  • Recommends and implement opportunities for streamlining Medical Affairs team and business processes.

  • Supports special projects as needed.

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required; an advanced degree (e.g., MPH or MBA) is preferred.

  •  3-5+ years of experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry with at least 2 years of direct cross functional operations team.

  • Strong understanding and prior experience in supporting the execution of Medical Affairs strategy.

  • Proven experience in project management, preferably within medical affairs, healthcare, or a related industry.

  • Strong organizational skills, with a record of successfully supporting cross-functional initiatives.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Proven track record of good decision making and exercising sound judgment.

  • Skilled at building relationships, fostering collaboration, and managing communications with diverse internal and external stakeholders.

  • Experience using Project Management software to manage project timelines and resources (e.g., MS Project, SmartSheet, OfficeTimeline, and OnePager Pro etc.).

  • Strong computer proficiency with MS Office suite, SharePoint and similar document archiving systems.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to recommend actionable solutions to address project challenges or streamline processes.

  • Knowledge of medical affairs processes, particularly within oncology or related therapeutic areas, to provide relevant context to project support.

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or other PM certification or equivalent is a plus.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $158,000 to $198,000 for candidates working onsite at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA. The range displayed on each job posting is intended to be the salary for an individual working onsite in Redwood City and will be adjusted for the local market a candidate is based in. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, market dynamics, and relevant education or training.
